Look who woke up in her own bed this morning! I only had to make two trips up there in the middle of the night - once to put a pacifier back in Cora's mouth, and once to feed her. She was up there from 7 PM until 7 AM! It was wonderful to be able to walk through our bedroom without having to whisper, tiptoe, or keep the lights down low. I could get ready for bed without worrying that I'd wake her, I could watch television in my own room, and I could have a conversation with my husband!
Two months ago I didn't think Cora would ever learn to sleep flat on her back, and a month ago I never thought I would be able to put her in her own room. Hopefully this means that my fears that she'll never sleep through the night are wrong, as well?
In a completely rational society, the best of us would aspire to be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something less, because passing civilization along from one generation to the next ought to be the highest honor and the highest responsibility anyone could have.
